This large jar measures 14 inches tall and was glazed and then first fired in the Notre Dame anagama. It was really lovely, but because the pot-sitters and wads were totally fused to the shelf, it had a small cooling crack around the middle. Because it was so beautiful, I decided to try to salvage it. I added a bit more ash, colorant, flux and Mt. Saint Augustine volcanic ash, and re-fired it in my gas reduction kiln. The crack is completely healed and it is even more beautiful than after the ND firing.

Firing Process: Wood-fired
Type of Work: large jars (tsubo)
