Oni-glazed Cup, #1652: $49

My current glaze investigation has seen a blending of my three-year-pursuit of Triple-Glazing with the "Oni-Glazing" that I've been pursuing most recently. Oni, in Japanese, can translate as "devil"...but also as "rustic", "extreme", "excessive", "over-the-top". I'm going for "Over The Top". ;-)

I know that my friend, old Mr. Matsuyama would not approve of my glaze approach.....but I wish I could "communicate with him, in his grave", to tell him why I find these investigations so compelling....and I am imagining - hoping - that he would share tea with me, nod with understanding, and then just be silent....leaving me with no answers, and only good questions.

This cup measures 4 inches tall.
