This most-recent collection of cups is, by my measure, some of the nicest results of my ONI-GLAZED approach. When you think of "ONI".....think "excessive", "more than enough".... "a little over the top". Exactly what I'm looking for. And I'm so happy with the way these modulating glazes interact with the dancing shapes of these cups...sure to fit your hand in 'just the right way'.
I'm continuing to explore "Oni-Glazing" for the last two and a half years. The complexity and elusiveness manage to delight and challenge me enough that I keep going.
This approach is my way of continuing to try to expand my visual literacy…to expand my understanding of beauty, and to keep trying to learn how to make the pots that I don’t know how to make.
